Chantae Wilson competes for Bermuda in the Natwest Island Games

Notts elite gymnast Chantae Wilson has been selected to compete for Bermuda in the Interntional Island Games taking placing from June 27th - July 3rd. 

Originally from Bermuda, Chantae chose to train at Notts and moved to England with her mum to follow her gymnastics dream 2 years ago. She attends Rushcliffe School and is coached by Jo Miller.

83 gymnasts compete from the IIGA Member Islands Aland, Shetland, Bermuda, Jersey, Cayman Islands, Gotland, Isle of Man & Ynys Mon. The gymnasts are competing in Holyhead, Ynys Mon (Anglesey), an island off the coast of Wales.

On Thursday, Chantae competed in Set Routines winning Gold individually finishing 1st on vault, bars & beam & 2nd on floor plus Bermuda also took the team gold.

On Saturday she competes in the voluntary routines competition.

Notts next generation at squads

A busy time for the Notts elite girls travelling to various squad training weekends.

Scarlett Williams (IAE level 1) travelled with coach Jemma Wilson for her GB squad training at Lilleshall, along with fellow gymnast Ramiyah Kofi (IAE level 2) who had a special invite to train with the GB development squad this weekend.

Meanwhile IAE level 1 gymnast Caitlin Williams (no relation) travelled with coach Olivia Curran to English squad training along with senior gymnast Jessica Coombs.

Obviously training is tough at the top!

The Downie sisters have also completed a Rio training camp for the seniors & potential olympians in Barcelona.
