See Beyond Gymnastics: Why Gymnastics Is About More Than Skills

At Notts Gymnastics Academy, we believe gymnastics is about far more than learning a cartwheel, handstand or somersault. It is about helping young people grow in confidence, develop resilience, build friendships and discover what they are capable of. 

That is why we are launching See Beyond Gymnastics, a campaign designed to showcase the wider impact gymnastics has on our members, families and community. 

Looking Beyond The Skills 

Every week, over 1600 children and young people walk through our doors to learn new skills, challenge themselves and enjoy being active. 

But behind every achievement is something bigger. 

A gymnast trying again after a fall is building resilience. A child stepping into class for the first time is developing confidence. A young person supporting their class mates is learning empathy, teamwork and responsibility. 

These are the moments that often go unseen, yet they are some of the most important outcomes of participation. 

Introducing NGA Strong 

Alongside the campaign, we are proud to launch NGA Strong, our new wellbeing initiative designed to support the personal development of our members. 

Each term focuses on a different wellbeing theme, with activities integrated into the gymnastics experience. This term's focus is confidence. 

Throughout the term, gymnasts and coaches will work together to explore what confidence means, recognise personal strengths, support one another and develop the courage to try new things. 

Confidence isn't just important in gymnastics. It helps young people at school, at home, with friendships and throughout life. 

An Offer For New Members 

As part of See Beyond Gymnastics, we're making it even easier for families to give gymnastics a try. 

From 12 to 31 October, new members joining our PreSchool, Gymschool or TeenMania programmes can enjoy two trial sessions for the price of one. 

It's a great opportunity to experience the fun, confidence and life skills gymnastics can help develop before becoming a member.

Throughout the campaign we'll be sharing stories from our members, parents and coaches that demonstrate how gymnastics can positively impact lives both inside and outside the gym.
