We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and highly motivated Pre-School & Education Lead Coach to support and drive the continued growth and development of our Early Years and Education programmes. This exciting role would suit an experienced coach, emerging leader, teacher, Early Years practitioner or education professional who is passionate about helping children reach their potential through physical activity and play. Working as part of our Participation leadership team, you will help shape and deliver outstanding programmes, develop educational partnerships, support coach development and create positive experiences for children and families across Nottinghamshire.

About the Role

Reporting to the Participation Director & Head of Pre-School, you will play a key role in delivery of, and shaping and leading NGA's Pre-School and Education pathway. You will combine outstanding coaching with contributing to programme leadership, staff development and leading on community engagement, ensuring children enjoy safe, inclusive and inspiring experiences from their very first introduction to gymnastics.  

This is a unique coaching opportunity that primarily involves daytime working hours, typically: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 3:00pm. There is also potential for term-time only working, with salary adjusted on a pro-rata basis to reflect the working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Delivery

• Deliver high-quality Pre-School and Education programmes. 

• Support the development of NGA's Early Years pathway and support participant progression. 

• Design and deliver physical literacy and gymnastics programmes aligned with EYFS outcomes. 

• Drive innovation and create new opportunities to increase participation and community impact. 

• Ensure all activities are safe, inclusive and engaging.  

Education & Community Partnerships

• Build strong relationships with nurseries, schools, academies and educational providers. 

• Develop curriculum-linked programmes, PE delivery, enrichment activities and teacher CPD opportunities. 

• Expand outreach activity across Nottinghamshire and surrounding areas. 

• Promote gymnastics as a vehicle for physical development, wellbeing and confidence.  

Coach Development

• Mentor and support coaches working within the Pre-School and Education pathway. 

• Support recruitment, onboarding and professional development. 

• Foster a positive coaching culture aligned to NGA values. 

• Conduct coaching observations and provide developmental feedback. 

Growth & Development

• Drive membership recruitment and retention. 

• Monitor programme performance and occupancy. 

• Support marketing, fundraising and community engagement initiatives. 

• Help deliver holiday camps, festivals and academy events.  

We're Looking For Someone Who Has

Essential

• British Gymnastics Coaching Qualification (ideally Foundation / Level 2 or above). 

• Experience coaching Early Years and/or Pre-School participants. 

• Experience leading or mentoring coaches. 

• Strong understanding of child development and physical literacy. 

• Experience working with schools, nurseries or educational settings. 

• Excellent communication, organisational and relationship-building skills. 

• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion. 

• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain).  

Desirable

• British Gymnastics Pre-School qualification. 

• EYFS, teaching or education-related qualification. 

• Experience developing outreach programmes and educational partnerships. 

• Experience with budgets, projects or programme management & securing grants or external funding. 

• First Aid qualification. 

• Experience supporting SEND participants.

 Notts Gymnastics Academy (NGA) is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Level 2+ Gymnastics Coach (BG Qualified) to join our established GymSchool Programme. This is a fantastic opportunity for a coach who is committed to excellence, gymnast-centred coaching, and professional development.  

 This role offers 20+ hours per week, providing a varied coaching schedule. You will deliver engaging evening sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, alongside daytime coaching on Saturdays. There is also the opportunity to expand your hours further, with additional sessions available on Sundays from August and through covering shifts as and when they become available. 

 Main Purpose of the Role   

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Level 2+ Gymnastics Coach with a passion for both gymnast progression and personal development. 

 At Notts Gymnastics Academy, you will deliver coaching within our GymSchool programme, supporting gymnasts from Foundation Year through to Year 7+. You will collaborate closely with a dedicated team of coaches, including our key coaching leadership, within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

 Essential requirements   

• British Gymnastics Level 2+ qualification & British Gymnastics membership (ability to obtain)  

• Safeguarding & Protecting Children certification & Valid DBS (or willingness to obtain)  

• A passion for coaching and developing gymnasts and people with strong teamwork, communication, and organisational skills  

• A desire to progress professionally and develop as a coach  

• Availability to work evenings and weekends as required

Key Responsibilities

· Attend competitions and events as required to support gymnasts

Essential requirements

· Minimum British Gymnastics Level 2 WAG qualification (or equivalent)

· Current British Gymnastics membership (or willingness to obtain)

· Safeguarding & Protecting Children certification (or willingness to obtain)

· Valid DBS (or willingness to obtain)

· A passion for coaching and developing gymnasts and people

· Strong teamwork, communication, and organisational skills
